Vegas Golden Knights Identity
I had the honor and privilege of leading the Adidas hockey design team to create and build the Vegas Golden Knights new identity from scratch. What started as a naming and brand strategy table discussion in Whitefish, MT, with owner Bill Foley and close friend Murray Craven, ultimately became one of the great branding stories of modern sports history.
Making Vegas History.
Owner Bill Foley and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced the Las Vegas expansion franchise’s official name and revealed its logo and colors at a historic event for about 5,000 fans outside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Design Deck.
Here’s a brief overview of the design deck we presented to the NHL and Vegas Golden Knights executives. The name and logo were inspired by the owner Bill Foley, who had a vision to build a team inspired by the highest element of the warrior class—the knight.

Vegas Golden Knights Uniform Design.
Introducing a new uniform color to the NHL, inspired by the knight’s steel armor.
“The knight protects the unprotected. The knight defends the realm. The knight never gives up, never gives in, always advances, never retreats. And that is what our team is going to be.”
— Bill Foley, Vegas Golden Knights Owner

T-Mobile Arena and beyond.
It has been a pleasure to see Vegas come together and recognize the Golden Knights as one of their own. With this new identity, we were able to establish a strong and deep connection with the Vegas fan base while setting a new standard for other professional sports teams ready to call Las Vegas their home.
